Bil Digartrefedd a Dyrannu Tai Cymdeithasol (Cymru) | Homelessness and Social Housing Allocation (Wales) Bill

Ymateb gan: Craig Richards | Evidence from: Craig Richards

1.              What are your views on the general principles of the Bill, and whether there is a need for legislation to deliver the stated policy intention?

I can't believe you wasted ink on that it's obvious what social housing is meant to do . The who needs it most and who picks that is disgusting. I have been homeless 15 month sofa surfing and my county boast 630 Ukrainian families got rehoused in that time . How? There was nothing they can do for me nights in cars park benches and even a few garages getting sicker and sicker still just put on a list and wait for a flat /bedsit / caravan even I couldn't afford the rent to

2.            What are your views on the provisions set out in Part 1 of the Bill - Homelessness (sections 1 -34)? In particular, are the provisions workable and will they deliver the stated policy intention?

It just doesn't work we are 2025 I have never seen so many homeless people or in threat in my life it's like we are back in the 1800 down to poor government

3.            What are your views on the provisions set out in Part 2 of the Bill – Social Housing Allocation (sections 35 – 38)? In particular, are the provisions workable and will they deliver the stated policy intention?

Well meaning drivel you can have a fool proof plan but it's how it's rolled out you have obviously only spoke to one or 2 councils every council has completely different set of circumstances and alot have very incompetent staff

4.            What are your views on the provisions set out in Part 3 of the Bill – Social Housing Allocation (sections 39 – 43 and Schedule 1)? In particular, are the provisions workable and will they deliver the stated policy intention?

Well meaning but just can't work not enough land in Wales to feed us and house us it's farm or house can't do both . Or you stop holiday home of actual houses or allow more caravan sires to become livable spaces

5.            What are the potential barriers to the implementation of the Bill’s provisions and how does the Bill take account of them?

Timeline people are in trouble now the staff in charge have no idea and neither does government who say they are building more homes well those homes will take 3/4 years to complete what do people homeless NOW do ? Wait living out of bin bags not knowing what happens no address for new bank cards or driving licenses or passports everything stops still

6.            How appropriate are the powers in the Bill for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation, as set out in Chapter 5 of Part 1 of the Explanatory Memorandum)?

A fart in a thunderstorm you can't force legislation if the people carrying it out have messed up this so badly in the first place councils have messed this up they are not held to any accountability to fix it but ask for money to do so since Conwy has had money for a homeless department homelessness has gone from maybe 20/30 cases to hundreds they are making a problem to keep the department open

7.             Are there any unintended consequences likely to arise from the Bill?

Yeah more well meaning idiots will use nationality and colour to look diverse rather than help people that are in need but you know can survive for now ....for now turns into months and years

8.            What are your views on the Welsh Government’s assessment of the financial implications of the Bill, as set out in Part 2 of the Explanatory Memorandum?

They Welsh government haven't got a clue they sit they work on bills and nothing works but then tell everyone how well everything is going . Tell them to try being homeless applying for jobs with no address getting new I'd  just basic living keeping food the food bill doubles as they don't really have access to a fridge or freezer .washing clothes washing yourself

9.            Are there any other issues you would like to raise about the Bill and the Explanatory Memorandum or any related matters?

N/A
